Allied Data Technologies bv has just completed what it describes as successful
testing of its CopperJet series of ADSL Modems/Routers at British Telecommunications
plc's (BT's) Broadband CPE Test Lab (Adastral Park, Ipswich, UK).
Testing confirms compatibility of both the CopperJet 800/ (ADSL Router) and
the CopperJet 800-USB (bus powered ADSL Modem) for connection to the BT ADSL
Broadband Network. The tests included 'transport layer tests' covering both
functional and performance testing with Alcatel and Fujitsu DSLAMs, verifying
compatibility with BT's deployed DSLAMS.
"We are delighted by the success of this testing," said Niels Everstijn, VP
Technology at Allied Data. "These tests further endorse the high degree of interoperability
that we have designed into our CPE products."
About the test:
Both the CopperJet 800-USB and CopperJet 810 E/U were tested for a 'transport
layer test' at the BT CPE Test Lab. The tests included both Alcatel- and the
Fujitsu DSLAM's. The results were described as satisfactory. The CopperJet 800-USB
and the CopperJet 810 E/U were compatible.
About BT's test facilities:
The BT Broadband CPE Test Lab facility is being provided free of charge until
31st March 2002. The Broadband Test Lab has been stet up to offer CPE Manufactures
and Service Providers the opportunity to carry out tests on their CPE on a realistic
network model to satisfy themselves that their CPE performs to a satisfactory
level with BT Broadband products. The facilities offered at the CPE Test Lab
will enable manufacturers to test at three layers of the network; physical,
transport and IP layers. Back
