BSI Product Services
Stand D8
www.bsi-global.com
Product Launch:
Launching new product at show - kitemark scheme for new Oftel standard.
Announcements:
BSI will be demonstrating how companies can comply to OFTEL's new Metering
& Billing Standard (OTR003:2001). To achieve approval and ultimately use the
BSI Kitemark, all aspects of a company's systems making up the bill will have
to undergo assessment. First a quality systems assessment, second an assessment
of the metering & billing processes and thirdly the billing will be reconciled
with usage.
The areas of focus are likely to include customer relationship management,
sales & marketing, engineering and network operation. The metering & billing
processes assessment is based on analysis and measurement of the operator's
charging systems and reconciliation of usage with billing to establish a compliant
data history, rather than being a service based on just process management
assessment. It is expected, in some cases, to lead to revenue benefits.
Oftel has published a phased programme for major operators to apply during
2002 once the scheme has gone live which is expected to be in the second quarter
of this year. Achieving approval is typically expected to take a year, as
operators have to demonstrate a history of compliance achievement.
About BSI
BSI, in conjunction with specialist service providers, BSI Business Solutions
Limited (BBSL) and TCS, also carry out revenue integrity audits, interconnect
auditing and training that could amongst other things also decrease fraud
and increase marketing awareness.

CAPE Technologies
Stand C15
www.capetechnologies.com
Product Launch:
Exclusively at Billing Systems 2002, CAPE Technologies will launch its latest
product RoamBroker‚, RoamBroker‚ is a comprehensive solution for managing
all aspects of mobile billing settlement for inter-operator roaming. Features
include call rating, roaming agreement management and exchange of billing
records and invoices with roaming partners and clearing houses.
RoamBroker‚ is highly flexible and can be deployed as a stand alone system
with local interfaces to mediation / billing or otherwise can be tightly integrated
with the billing system if preferred, using the billing system rating engine
for example. By concentrating all the financial aspects of roaming in a single
place, RoamBroker‚ offers the operator the ability to efficiently manage the
roaming business process.
Roaming traffic behaviour can be analysed, and targeted marketing campaigns
implemented, to increase market share of incoming roamers and to segment outgoing
roamers with discount incentives and other
deviations from standard tariffs. The ability of a roaming management function
to exploit and implement marketing opportunities without impact on the main
company billing system provides a key flexibility within an operator organisation
and a resultant competitive advantage.
RoamBroker‚ is a radically new approach that recognises the importance of
roaming and its central role in the mobile telecom business.
Conference/Presentations:
Product Briefing - Wednesday 24th April at 11.45 in Product Briefing Room

Events:
Retro gaming fans will be flocking to stand D13B, courtesy of i-conX solutions.
In between developing leading edge interconnect billing software packages,
it seems the chaps in IT thought it would be fun to mix their icons with their
X's (geddit?) - and came up with a vintage Space Invaders game to give the
folks something to play with on-stand.
Apparently the game is lovingly authentic, with squidgy buttons and those
infuriating aliens that get progressively trickier to hit. Just one difference
- you can't pull the plug out to wipe the high score. As compensation, i-conX
promise to hand over a bottle of Champagne to each day's top scorer.
