UKTV’s international programmes sales break £3.5 million

Seachange International partners with Airties

SeaChange International, the leading provider of software applications, services and solutions for IPTV, Video-On-Demand (VOD), digital advertising, and content acquisition, has announced that it is partnering with AirTies, a strategic international developer of wireless networking and broadband Internet access solutions with a current installed base of 2.6 million residential gateways.

SeaChange and AirTies are partnering to deliver next generation in-home wireless distribution of high-quality video and data services. The resulting solutions will expedite the deployment of advanced IPTV services by eliminating truck rolls and quickly enabling televisions and personal computers with sophisticated, wireless data and video applications within each home.
“Operators around the globe need IPTV solutions that can be rolled out quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The combination of SeaChange’s TV Navigator <http://www.schange.com/en-US/Products/Middleware_Apps/TV_Navigator.aspx> middleware and AirTies’ M-140 set-top box creates the first wireless IPTV solution that is easy to bring into the home and brings sophisticated applications, like Caller-ID and Games, to multiple television sets and computers by pressing a single button,” said Bill Styslinger, President and CEO of SeaChange. “Automatic provisioning of the service is done by the household consumer, who also enjoys automatic software upgrades through a broadband connection,” he added.
Based on this partnership, the initial deployments will be made in Turkey and Russia. SeaChange will continue to work with AirTies on projects in various countries including Greece, Ukraine, India, Brazil, Germany, and Israel.
